Kabuki #9 (Misprint) Comic Book by David Mack Comic Book is from my husband’s private collection. Purchased new when first released in 2000, this comic book has never been opened or read. Instead the comic book was slabbed, bagged, boxed and stored ever since. The colors are bright and clean with whites that pop. The comic book having never been opened or read the spine has no creases and the staples still shine.
This Kabuki comic book is a prefect opportunity for the experienced collector looking for a CGC grade but priced for the novice collector. You will find lower priced copies but you will not find better. However, as with any comic book 25ish years old, a gentle cleaning will go a long way to those higher CGC grades. Not so much here, this Kabuki #9 (Misprint) is in just amazing condition.
Images are actual high resolution digital scans of the comic book you will receive with your order. Original scans can be provided upon request. Because comic books and Trade Paperbacks are non returnable, please ask any questions prior to placing your order. -Jan (aka TheGlassyLass)
Why is this a misprint? When comparing the front cover of this Kabuki #9 to the other in my husband’s collection and to images found online, there is a difference in the colors of the artist’s image. At first glance, one might think this is due to fading but it clearly is not as the blacks and whites are stunning. The difference is in the reds to the right which appear more brown and an over color tone of green. It almost looks as if the printer ran out of one color (red) during the 4 color printing process and the error slipped through. Surprisingly, the back covers match perfectly.
Why does that make this Kabuki #9 more valuable? In a world of CGC 9.8’s, almost always any printing irregularity means you have the more rare copy. Like the stamp with the upside down airplane.
