Wolverine #1 1982 Limited Edition (CGC Graded 9.6) from TheGlassyLass Private Collection (CGC Certification #3949650001)
From my husband's private collection, this Wolverine #1 was purchased off the rack at The Golden Apple Comics in Hollywood California. The comic was slabbed, bagged, and stored ever since until graded by CGC 9.6. However, this is a very special CGC 9.6 and in the world of collectable comic books any little difference can make a huge impact on value.
In the particular case, this has to be one of the worst casing jobs we have ever seen come out of CGC. This is not just a bad job but they didn't even use the correct inner case sleeve. You can see this by looking at the back side and there is a fold over flap that shouldn't be there.
My husband wanted to send the comic book back to have the job redone. At least until our Comic Book Guy friend said the wrong inner case and bad casing job does not affect the comic book in any way. Let the error stand out. In a group of 9.6 comic books, this will rise to the top. So here we are.
An excellent opportunity for the aspiring Wolverine or comic book collector or investor.
